Residents of Calgary's Tuscany neighbourhood are receiving police warnings to be cautious, after several sightings of a small black bear in the area Thursday afternoon.
The bear was first reports shortly after 1 p.m. in the Tuscany Vista area and was later seen moving west towards 12 Mile Coulee Road.
Alberta Fish and Wildlife officers are in the area searching for the bear. Police officers and a helicopter have also been used in the search but to no avail.
One resident told police the bear may have jumped a fence to head towards the Lynx Ridge community.
Police are telling Tuscany area residents to be wary, noting that if the bear is young, its mother may also be in the vicinity.
