Car impound question

Got a question, is there anyway I can get someone else to get my car out of the impound in my name? Reason being I work during the hours they are open...

I'm pretty sure the impound is open 24/7. If you still need your friend to pick it up I've heard a letter signed by you works.

They need a letter from you saying its ok with theyre name and license information, and on the letter you have to copy down all the cars information, your license information, insurance information, plus they need copys of the actual registration and insurance.

and yea as long as its a city impound and not a private lot its open 24/7

You can, but it is sooooo much easier to get it yourself.

And the city lot is 24/7.

The City impound lot is no longer open 24/7


Effective April 11, 2010, operating hours to the public will change from 24 hours a day, 7 days a week to the following:
* 7 am - 11 pm - Weekdays
* 9 am - 4 pm - Weekends and Statutory Holidays
* Closed on Christmas Day

Why the changes?

The hours were changed to make the most efficient use of resources; the new hours match the typical usage hours of 95% of Impound Lot customers and are comparable to the service hours offered by other Alberta municipalities. Increased impound fees will discourage owners who use the Impound Lot as a storage site for their vehicles.

That's dumb that they changed the hours. Not only do i think its ridiculous that you have to pay someone to take your car from you and hold it for you (depending on the circumstances of the impounding i guess), but now you have to get it at their convince and not yours.

7-11 is pretty decent hours, im sure you can go down and get it yourself during that time, if not your paying 16 bucks a day to keep it there
