Received a traffic ticket yesterday by mail in one of those red/green light speeding radar, and would like to know the process in asking for a deduction. My ticket was $150 (75km/h in a 50km/h zone)
where and when should I go to talk to the crown prosecutor?
how much do they usually take off?
approx. how long do I have to wait?

I did a search before I initiate this thread, and I apologize if there is one already exists. Thanks for your help.

It should say on the ticket where to go - they usually take off $0, and there is no waiting period for that...

Really? I used to go to Rocky Mountain building across downtown public library line up before it opened, then waited a couple hours before I was called in to talk to a prosecutor, usually they will deduct 20 to 25% of the amount on the ticket...Things obviously don't work the same these days!

Thanks for the info.

1) Why were you doing 75 in a 50 zone?
2)Why do you want your ticket reduced, do you feel you were justified in speeding?
3)Do you drive like that all the time? if so, what do you drive, I'll make sure to stay away from you.

Man up, and pay your ticket.

I would have known what to do if I get tickets often enough, but I wouldn't mind YOU stay away!
Thanks the rest for the info!

Drama queen.

There could be several valid reasons to dispute this charge or ask for a reduction.

Man up and stop telling people they don't have a right to a trial.

I would be happy that there are no demerits for a photo ticket, and is 20-25% worth the time? just a thought.:dunno:

The same as any other ticket. Go to the second floor of the new courthouse and stand in the Justice of the Peace line. Ask to speak to a first appearance crown. They call your name, you say you're broke, they let you plead guilty and receive a 25-50% lower fine.
