Hey guys Im buying an Ipad case for a friend as a birthday gift and I will be in calgary this weekend, so I thought calgary might have tons more choices of places than lethbridge.

so do any of you know where in calgary I could get cool ipad cases?

The only one worth buying is the official Apple one IMO. I've tried 2 others, just junk.

As rage2 said, the official Apple one is the best. I wouldn't buy anything else.

The apple store has cases, so do bestbuy and futureshop. Those are the only places I looked. I ended up going back to the apple store because everything BB and FS had was shit.

Yup that's the case to buy. My father-in-law bought one at the Richmond night market and its crap compared to the Apple one.

DealExtreme sells a clone of the Apple iPad case but it looks more like a flimsy piece of black cardboard than a case. It's cheap though!

I got the same case. It's reason why I caved and finally bought an Apple product.

I ordered one of the DealExtreme ones.

It's actually not too bad except for one thing. It doesn't have the tuck-behind flap at the spine. There is just a narrow piece of vinyl there that sticks up.

It's definitely a bit more flimsy than the Apple case, too. If they added that flap then it would be 85% as good as Apple's case.

I tried an InCase leather one that was pretty nice except the front cover was warping.

I exchanged it for the official Apple one but it didn't wow me, wasn't a big fan of it.

I returned it and I've ordered the Tuff-Luv Bi-Axis case from Amazon. Haven't gotten it yet but hopefully it's nice.

Both my wife and I have the apple case. It's been great. What bad reviews could there be?

The fake suede type surface is a nightmare to clean.

Apple Case is actually way better than most of the cases out there. However there is a clear Logiix case out there that is pretty slick looking. Covers the back and front perfectly and outlines the screen and all the buttons well.

Depends that kind of case you are looking for, but I would go for Apple case as well... for iPad version 2.0 that is :D

Damp cloth is all it needs to wipe off all the dust it collects. That's it. Not that hard to clean.

I disagree.

We have the Hard Candy Street Skin (http://www.hardcandycases.com/ipad-streetskin.html) case with the Power Support Anti Glare Film (http://www.powersupportusa.com/accessories/ipad/anti-glare-film-set.html) , and it's holding up really well with the primary user being our two year old.

I think the apple case would have been trashed by now.

As a case, the apple one is ok but it scratches easy, you can't use the keyboard dock with the case on which is effing idiotic IMO and the apple case is bullshit for standing the ipad up to watch a movie on.

It's not a win, IMO.

If you have to buy it now, then the best option is probably the official Apple case.

IMO, the best case and the one I use is the Marware Eco-Flip. You can get them brand new off eBay for around $45 shipped.

I'm not sure about BB but I bought a very similar InCase one at FS but it wasn't a convertible jacket. They didn't have the convertible one which mean it was simply a leather case that didn't stand at different angles like the one you're looking for.

Either way, it was a nice case and I really liked the look of it, but the front cover warped within a few days. I would be wary of purchasing it for that reason.

Another alternative could be a full body skin:

I've been using skins only for my iPod / iPhone for the last few years and they've held up great.
