Just wondering if anyone has the same sata HDD as mine. I need to replace the logic board on my HDD so if you have the same one on a HDD you don't need I'd like to take it off your hands (just the logic board). I'm not RMA'ng since the data is still good and I need it.

Here are some information I have found to possible hard drive logic board / PCB:

Machine Level Code (MLC): JPT39C

Alphanumeric Data Label (sticker on the PCB): 0A72947 (first line); BA3321B (second line); M6g942 (third line); 01AT (fourth line)

According here
http://www.dataclinic.co.uk/ibm-hitachi-pcb-controller-compatibility.htm (http://)
the first 2 lines should be a match.

If im not mistaken this is a fairly new drive. There were older revisions like the 7K1000.B and the HD31000, im not quite sure how they differ from this drive (could be a firmware revision). If your data is important to you I would just suggest purchasing another one locally. I know memory express sells the 7k1000.C drive. I bought mine about a month ago, still doing good so I cant help you out with the logic board.

I have to consider the MLC# (machine language code, just a guess), the first two numbers I'm not sure of printed on a sticker on the logic board. It must be a match. I called memoryexpress today and they said they "cycle out fast" so they don't have them.

To anyone who might have the same HDD as mine: I will replace your Hitachi HDD with a brand new 1TB Western Digital Caviar Black or $90 or I'll give you my 20GB Xbox 360.
