I strongly doubt they will fit without rubbing

ya i am think of useing spacers.........my friend told me at autobody shops they have a machine that can bend my outer fender out wards so the tire wont rub on the outside

true or false?

and my stock wheels where 195/60/R14

and my rims that i am putting the tires on are 205/17

yes they can roll the fenders but I thought that was usually done to accomodate 18 or 19" wheels rather than a wider tire. Is it really worth it for 225's over 205 or 215's?

well i dont think it is going to cost very much and i really like the look of wider tires on the back

i dont think it will be a big project to do

Well you dont have to worry about the rear wheels turning like the fronts, so you might not have that much trouble. I have 225's all around from 205's...dont come close to rubbing. Now if you had 18-19's then you'd have to worry about rolling your fenders, but you dont, so dont worry.

But why larger tires on the rear for a fwd car?

From what I have been reading in Europe, VW's and other Euro marks are all modding and using the larger "tyre" on the rear...the stretched look is huge...plus coreect me if I am wrong, but doesnt a wider tire on the rear promote more neutral handling??

i think it is the other way around if the front tires are out more than the back(bmw does this ) it promotes better handling :dunno:
