I still have mine. Great for playing "Hide & Go Seek" in the industrial parks. Great fun!

Are these the same or similar to the radios used for private roads like Forestry and Oil and gas? I rent those for work, and wouldn't ind having one for personal use if they'd be multi-purpose.

What's a typical price for a used one?

nope, two-way radios are used for logging/forestry roads and whatnot, They are programmable to many different ranges of frequencies and have up to 40 allowed watts output.

CB or citizens band radios are capped to a lower output power and run on set frequencies. Highway truckers use cb's in the states a lot...canada doesn't use them so much

Most cases it's where you run your power and antenna cables that does that.

Which channel are you usually on?

It's usually left on CH 11 (Wheeling Channel) or 19 to ease drop on truckers.

i have routed my power/antenna cables multiple times.

once i get my bronco back on the road im going to bring a 12volt battery with me and attach the radio to the battery while i drive to see if i get interference still.

What is a Westy? Google says either a VW Van or a Lotus 7 replica.

Yup, still run a uniden... Going to move it to the anti-christ sometime soon; usually it's pure crap on 19 - but every once in a while you get some good info...

F*ck the yodeling transx driver... Guy makes me :banghead:
