Any suggestions for an indoor running track open past 9pm? I didn't get out of the house like I wanted to tonight. I live near Westside, but $12.00 to get in.

-Sidewalks are 24hrs.
-Or you could jump the fence at the Foothills Athletic Park (i dont condone this, but its a possibility)

haha, I could run outside, but I'm a beginner and find that the tracks are easier on the knees.

The field next to Westside = good place to run. Somewhat lit due to the lights in the parking lot.

Walking on grass is really good...

Be careful on shortened indoor tracks, they can also be bad for your joints. Most indoor tracks are only 200m long, some might even be shorter. The problem with that is, depending on your speed, the turns put a lot of stress on your inside hip, knee and ankle due to the leaning into the turn on a tighter radius.
Some tracks are banked, others have alternating directions on different days/lanes. Those two should alleviate any potential problems, but just be aware that you're not always running in the same direction.
