2011 Bentley Mulsanne Premium Test Drive.

Today I was 1 of 8 people who got to drive the new 2011 Bentley Mulsanne Premium Car at its release today.. And all I can say is Rolls Royce watch out . The new Bentley is in town and its the new car to be seen in. Remember guys , this is not for the Lamborghini or Ferrari crowd , this car is for a different status look , and the Bentley crowd will not be disappointed! Even with the amazing price tag that starts at $345,000

Exterior

At first glance the Mulsanne reminded me a lot of Rolls Royce Phantom , with its demanding stances and elegant curb appeal. The new Mulsanne replaces the old flagship Arnage sedan and keeps the Bentley name at the top of the class for high end vehicles

The Mulsanne is even more amazing once you get close and personal... from the Bentley Logo that stands at attention at the front of the car (Bentley made it so that duplicates are harder to make , so they made the feather count on each side different...See picture below) , to the extensive and expensive hand finishing work shown threw out the entire car. This car has no visible body seams.

The Interior

Welcome to Bentley... This car has everything! From rich real wood veneers , to the rich tang of leather. This interior is said to take over 170 hours to build! The Mulsanne comes with eight inch multimedia screen hidden away under a panel incase you don't want to look at it.. But if you do want to throw on your ipod , simple plug and play is offered. (They even have a little compartment to hide away your Ipod.)

This car was made for the driver , everything is made to make this the most luxurious and perfect ride ever. No matter if its driving to the grocery store , or taking a long cruise through the rocky mountains , this car is made to drive! . ..
I should also mention , this car HAULS ass .. But Ill comment on that later.

The seats are very very comfortable , and I even had the pleasure to enjoy a massage from the chairs , which is offered on ALL the seats. This car is pure luxury , and you could not ask for anything more.

I await the pretty metal on Deerfoot, such a waste driving a car of this caliber in Calgary. If anyone gets the chance to see the paint on these cars, quality and depth of this sort is unknown until experienced. Can there be a better paint on any vehicle? Well worth the money if you have it, just the part about driving it here makes me cringe a bit.

IMO they are just trying to squeeze a few 'special editions' out of the aging continental model.

LOL that was me the rolled through... even in the mulsanne i still wanted to see the sound off in the lot.


The Mulsanne is definitely quite the car, we are really excited to have it apart of our lineup at Bentley. It definitely makes the flying spur look out dated. The technology is unreal in this car. Its good to see the development of the cars moving forward..

Definitely the same feel as a phantom, which is easily the best car I've sat in.

I dont care for new bentlys due to their "Audi" feel. All the gauges and dials feel very VAG and not very unique and bently to me. The drive is nothing overly special either.

I would still chose a Rolls over a Bently, but this is definitely a game breaker car. I really like it.


I just feel the bently coupes should be a unique experience, like the first time I drove a S class or a A8.

Wow thats a beautiful car! Stance and body shape looks a lot like a Phantom tho, should have done something to distinguish it a little more. Would still be happy to rock one if I was a pompeous money waster tho. Hell for that matter I would take one of those supersports as a grocery getter while I'm at it. lol.

Maybe I am nuts, but 345 for a Bentley doesn't seem pricey.What does an S-Class peak out at? Doesnt seem comparable.
