brakelight?

so the car is a 03 civic coupe, when i turn my lights on only my passenger brakelight illuminates and my drivers stays off for some reason, when i press the brakes they all light up wich is wierd (its the same bulb on the drivers side but it only glows when i apply the brake) , i tried a very cavemanish effect of smacking it a couple times and in all honesty it had turned on but only for a brief moment and then shut back off

any help or suggestions i could use?
