The standard MacBook provides 30 milliwatts of wireless power. The Quickertek transceiver provides 500 milliwatts.

What can you do with that extra power?
-See and connect to wireless networks previously out-of-reach
-Send and receive files much faster, up to 300 Mb/sec
-Avoid paying hotel access fees and being filtered at work by connecting to hotspots provided by Starbucks, Subway, McDonalds and dozens of other companies

What makes this different from all the other USB wifi adapters?
Simply - Power. Other USB adapters have the same or less power than the built-in Apple wifi adapter, and as such will not provide any of the benefits of the Quickertek adapter. More information on the Quickertek is available here (http://www.quickertek.com/products/Quicky.php).

I originally purchased this to access free hotspots in downtown Calgary on my MacBook while I was at the office, and it worked great. I now work from home and sit 3 feet from my Airport base station, so this is no longer necessary.

Each unit is hand tested by the factory and the certificate for this unit is included.

I paid $262.46 from myMacDealer a year ago, still have receipt.

Asking $120 obo. PM me for more information or to purchase.
