Anyone here with a 4/3 camera body that can meet up with me for 10 or 15 minutes so that I can test out a lens on it? We can meet up wherever, like a Timmies or Starbucks and I'll buy you a coffee and donut for your troubles! Alternatively I can bring my photographic equipment (D200, GF1, LX3) for you to try out if you want (i.e. let me play with your body and I'll let you play with mine).

We can also turn this into a mini beyond photog meet since we haven't had one in a while.

Reply here if you're interested in a.) letting me play with your (4/3) body for 10-15 minutes and b.) meeting up and chatting!

are you switching to 4/3 now or something? Why don't you rent a G1 or something?

Not switching... A G1 is still a m4/3. I need something like an E series Olympus or Panny L1 or L10 or Leica D-Lux 3.

HiSpec - I'll set something up as soon as we get more people. Anyone else interested in a meet & greet?

Depending on when and where I would be interested.

I'm looking to move away from my kit lens for my D90 and wouldn't mind trying some other people's lenses to get a feel for what else is out there. I'm heavily leaning towards the 17-55mm DX F2.8, if anyone has that that would be great.

Plus, I also wouldn't mind learning a thing or two.

I am leaning towards the same lens by Tamron.

The Tamron ones are great, but slow AF, I had one and got rid of it for that reason. The Nikon 17-55mm 2.8 is an awesome lens, but expensive and heavy. But it was one of my favorite DX lenses.

I'm down, depending on the date and time.

Yeah I've got the Tamron. On a D200, focusing speed is not an issue. On the lesser bodies, it's somewhat slower. It's a great lens because a.) it's cheap, b.) it's small and LIGHT (67mm filters), c.) it's cheap! It's also ever so slightly soft at 2.8, but it sharpens up considerably by f/4 or even f/3.5. Oh and I have the screw drive version. Can't speak for the motorized version. My D200 sees either this lens or the Sigma 30mm f/1.4 90% of the time.

So how's this Sat evening looking for everyone?

Who's got a 4/3 body??? Please?!?!?

I have the Leica D-Lux 3, but the lens is not interchangeable, let me know if that is what you are looking for.

Sunday doesn't work for me either, as much as I want to meet some local photogs, I believe I will have to miss out on this one unless it is Sunday night.

I'd be interested in checking out your GF1, does it have the 20mm pancake? You got a 4/3's adapter for it? I'd be interested to see how it does with the Olympus 4/3's lenses. Mostly looking to see how quickly it focuses and shoots on moving cars or something. I've got a E420 with the 25mm pancake and the 40-150mm zoom. I mainly use the 25mm just because it's so small and bright even for most indoor shots w/o zoom. It's more versatile for me than the 40-150mm.

This weekend I'm probably good with either afternoon, I'm way in the deep south.

Hey Adam,

Not much interest so far, and it's already Friday night, so probably will have to reschedule for sometime in mid-September maybe? Unless I get a flood of answers. If I do, then it would be Sunday afternoon.

Alright guys, Sunday, 2PM, Good Earth, Eau Claire.

Who's in? If I get at least 4 responses including myself, then it's a go!

I've got one hell of a cold right now, it's best I don't come out.
