Not vinyl wrap. It's the new Matte 3M, which turns your paint color matte. So in my case, it goes from Obsidian Black Metallic, to Satin black, and a tad lighter in color than factory color due to the way it reflects the light. It turns out much darker than the C63's matte black vinyl job. Hard to tell from pics though.

It offers the same paint protection as normal 3M at 8mils thick. The vinyl wrap is only 2mils thick, and when stretched, can get under 1mil thick in some spots. If you've seen my C63 up close before, you'll notice how bad the front end is from this winter's rocks. This product won't have that problem.

There's going to be next to no underhood mods in this car.

Suspension - fully adjustable coilovers. Front and rear strut bars. Camber plates all around. That's what comes from the factory. Nothing much to do.

Engine - The exhaust system is fairly well tuned from the factory, except for the headers. There's about 10hp there, and another 10hp with a xpipe, but the car becomes ridiculously loud. Theres 10hp for a chip, and another 10 for the airbox. Nobody offers mufflers for the car, because there's no aftermarket system that's better than factory. I dunno if I wanna pay $18000 for 40hp and make the car obnoxiously loud and void my extended warranty that I paid for.

I'd say black out the car. Black rims, tint windows, and tint the red portion of the tail's. Then it'll be truely the black series.

That car popped up for sale again when I was doing my shopping. I almost bought it, until I saw the horrendous interior...

The current owner bought it in April, had it for 3 months before throwing it up for sale.

I'll probably stop by a random Wed meet once the car's ready. So yea... go to the meets!

Every painted surface will be covered, including the lip, to protect from getting sandblasted on our awesome dusty roads. The CF parts will be normal 3M'd to maintain the glossy look.

No. I'm keeping all chrome intact (like my C63). It gives the car a bit of contrast. All black is a little bit boring.

It's going to be as agressive of an offset I can do where I can fit more rubber. Stock is 265 and 285's, I'm moving up to 275's and 305's.

Staying 19" though. Trying to keep the rotating mass down.

I do remember Rage2 considering getting tits so that he could sit in a CLK63 Black (at least I think that is what they used for the F1 pace car) a few years ago.. so you never know how it would work out.
