Beyond Hockey Pool 2010-11

Well it's that time of year again. Yahoo fantasy hockey opened for the season today. We should have a couple available slots for new poolies this year. I invited everyone who played last year, and once they have said yes/no, I will post the info for others to join.

Shout out to the top teams last year:

If you guys have any suggestions on the scoring system let me know. I know last year we switched to unlimited games and points only.

2 have accepted.

1 has declined.

We have 12 spots total. So we will have at least 4 open slots.

I will be waiting until after Labour Day for people to rejoin, and then we will open the spots up.

Alright for new people interested, here is the info. A couple of things first though.

- use your beyond user name as your team name

- this is a points based yahoo pool. every stat is assigned a point value. it will break down something like this: goals (5 points), assists (3 points), goalie wins (8 points), etc, etc

- please try to manage your team for the full season. don't be the guy who quits after xmas.

I can move it a couple of hours later, but I don't want to change it too often. Last year we ended up moving it 3-4 times, but it seems like no matter what, someone can't make it. I want there to be tons of notice ahead of time so that everyone can do their best to be there.

understandable. I work on sundays and I don't have my schedule for the 26th yet. If i get a 9-5 shift, then I would be able to make it for 5:15 or else I guess I'll have to let the computer do the draft for me

I know it's been asked and done slightly, but I am almost certain of working till 6pm on the 26th. Why don't we have it more in the evening like 7:30-8:00. It's guarantee that most people are home then. Sundays is the day that most people get shit done... and 5:15 is pretty close to when people are starting to sit down for dinner.

Also I think we should consider changing one or two of the D positions to UTILITY or we're going to have to draft 3rd line defense pairings which is going to suck.

Yeah I'm fucked. Something came up last minute and I don't have time to edit my rankings or anything. I'll have to use the default ranking.

I'll still be there to play, trade, etc. through the whole season, but I don't think my team will do all that well.
