Hello all: I have just aquired a very large amount of car magazines that date back to the early 50s. My parents got some 50s hot rod mags and told me there was more so I said grab them all. It ends up it was a lady who was getting rid of her late husbands collection and from what it looks like is he has every Hot Rod, Road and Track, and Motor Trend mag from the early 50s on to about 5-6 years ago. They all are in extremely good condition.

I am looking for input on what to do with them. My first thought is to go through them all and keep the ones from the 50s maybe 60s. How do I protect the valueable ones from future damage ? Those comic book sleeves ? Next I figure I will pass on the rest to anyone that Might be interested.

So if anyone has a request for an old magazine let me know the date and I will see if I can find it or if you want a stack from the 70s on let me know. Most of the mags will be free and I may accept an offer on the ones from the 50s.
Edit: Just went through the stack again and seen a bunch from the50s called "auto age"
If there is interest I will post pics.

She is just happy when someone wants these as apposed to chucking them out or into recycling.

I'd be into the 50/60s hot rod magazine's. Let me know what you're thinking price wise.

Not sure on pricing, see some of them up on ebay occasionally - some of the issues are worth a few $ - others... Not so much.

I'd be interested in the early-mid '70s Hot Rod magazines and some Motor Trend that features old vans as new models by road tests. I'll PM you - ok?

Ebay, seriously.... there are some vintage car nuts that would be all over them. Sell each issue individually, or go by years (as in Sept 1960-Sept 1961 12 issue collectors pack). That way you'd maximize your profits. Also be sure to list the details of very important issues, such as the release of the 1970 'Cuda Convertible (or the like). There are some car nuts that will pay a mint for some of those.

Sorry no Track And Traffic. I was told there are also Popular science and Popular Mechanix along with Car and Driver. I didn't grab them yet let me know if there is interest and I will check if they are still availible.

Thought I would snap a few pics of the ones I am keeping.

I will be getting the rest of the mags around wednesday.
So far with the ones I have right now it looks like I have some for everyone that has put in a request except I'm not sure about the van specific ones.
I will get in touch with everyone when I get all of them and sort them out.

All right, I'll take all the automotive mags from 1964-1973 if you want to part them this way. :dunno:

Sorry for the delay guys. I have been waiting for my parents to get the rest of the mags but they don't seem to be as eager as we are.

I'm gonna seperate the ones i have into piles for who asked for them and I will send out PMs in a day or two.

If you have one that has the 1982 Toyota Celica I would love it. My first car my dad gave me and he bought it brand new.

looks like this:

^^^ I don't have one of those. I love that car too so I would have noticed. I think I seen an 81 celica but those had a completely different look.

Okay, I'll take any from the early 50's or prior to '73 (any around there I mean)

if not already spoken for I'll take the Hot Rod stuff from the "Van" period - I think mid/late 70s to early 80s?

would also love to have the earlier stuff too but that's already been called.
