Ok so im about a month late with this, but I couldnt find anything wiht the search.

I love the IS250 AWD but for the price for Hp kinda turned me off of buying it.

Saw this and I cant wait

IS350 AWD (http://www.autoguide.com/auto-news/2010/07/lexus-is350-awd-model-announced-es350-tuned-for-regular-fuel.html)

I never understood why they didn't offer AWD for the IS350 in the first place, but offer it for the lower end IS250. I bet current IS350 owners aren't pleased with the news ;)

Ya I would have liked to have awd on my IS350. Maybe I'll upgrade.....need to see the specs on it when it comes out.

On a safety note, for 2011 all non-hybrid Lexus models will include a brake override system that cuts power if the gas and brake pedals are press simultaneously.

Last ditch effort to boost sales of aging model. But AWD is pretty standard fare on an IS anyway.

The IS350 AWD is available starting at $44,950, about the same as the 2010 RWD model. Strangely enough, for 2011 they force you to take the F sport package on the RWD model which pushes it up to $52k.

Seems like a pretty decent deal, if not for the fact that it's long overdue for a new model. There's people trying to peddle used 250 AWDs for close to $40k.

Ya i saw this the other day. the 45k is also with no options. Or you could go to the Subaru WRX STI wagon all in for 46k.

Hmmmm

I just glanced over it, but I thought the base IS was comparably equipped vs the loaded STi... the only thing that stuck out was the base IS is missing the moonroof. For everything else, interior wise (audio, leather, fit & finish), I'd guess that Lexus > Subaru?

Unless I was modding, I'd probably choose the IS over the STi.

I'd take the IS over the STI too except that I can fit in an STI, whereas the IS was made for little people.

Ok the GF is going to kill me if she ever sees this comment, but moonroofs are over rated. IMHO
:nut:

But sedan to sedan. I do like the IS more.

*Also I have not test driven either, but I just might have to here soon

yep... sat in it at the car show.... I was REALLY disappointed with the room, and the RWD only BS.... I think its a good looking car though

Ditto, also sat in the car show, I am 6'1 and it felt like 2+2 instead of a 4 seater. It was horrible.

You must have freak long legs because im 6'3 w long legs. With the seat all the way down I dont need to put it all the way back. Imo theres tons of room unless you are considerably wider.
Factoring in a person behind a tall driver i could see it being a tight fit.

not to jump off topic. But is there really any decent sedan for 6' people to be a 4 seater? (unless moving to an SUV)

I sat in the Acura TL (2010) last year and was dissapointed.

EVO X. When I had my IS350, backseat was a joke. I'm 6' and there was not much headroom, or even room from the steering wheel to your knee. Car definitely had a lot of power, but if you want a fun car I would get something else. Ended up getting rid of mine for a Subaru, it was sad that my gf's new Corolla had more room....

Yeah the EVO X has more back seat room than other cars in it's class including the STI. However if you are looking at a Lexus the EVO probably is too performance focused (rides harsh and interior is cheap) for you.

You know I asked myself that same question a while ago while I was shopping for my next car.... Believe it or not, the VW Golf GTI fit me perfectly, while the IS350 was a total joke.... and!! like someone else mentioned above, the back seats, are USELESS...

I find VW fit tall people quite well. The reason I got SUV, is because I constantly take clients around for rides to see our work, so I really needed a 4 door.

GTI is very spacious. VW did a fantastic job with the car.

IS was made for small people. :nut:

A4 Quattro with APR tune. Without the tune, it's slower than IS350.

^ 1-2 years old probably...

Had an IS and sold it due to it being horrible in the snow. Even with snow tires. Wish mine was AWD.

I'd check it out but have my eyes set on the new 5 series.

Yeah the ride in the EVO X is rather stiff. But it seems like a lot of luxury cars around the price range of a IS are not very roomy at all. I tend to find cheaper cars to be more spacious these days...

Will APR tune get it close? 100hp gap to close

No on HP but torque.

http://www.goapr.com/includes/img/products/dyno/20tsivl_long_dyno/20tfsivl_long_s0_vs_s1_93_cc.gif

0-60 in mid to high 5s with 6sp. Close, but it won't beat IS350. When I tested the A4, it get going fast but lacks top end HP where IS350 is much better all around.

But A4 is supposed to match up with IS250. IS350's competitors are 335 and S4.

Have you tried the manual tranny in t he 250? The thing shifts like rowing a stick through a pile of bones. Thing sucks!

I have yet to test drive either. Ill probably try and take one out on monday. The audi A4/S4 are very nice, but mechanically would someone be paying an arm and a leg like the bmw's?

Here's a neat little bit of code to help you figure that out:

IF (region_of_origin = 'Europe')
[price_of_repair = std_price_of_repair*10;]
ELSE
[price_of_repair = std_price_of_repair;]

Speaking from personal experience, price of repair isn't actually that bad IF you go to George @ Tunedub. Otherwise, you're no better off than if you went with a BMW.
