Hello, I am trying to decide between a 2010 Civic and a 2010 Mazda 3. I enjoy driving the Mazda 3 more, but I was looking through a Consumer Report book and it seems Mazda 3’s have not always received good ratings for safety.
Has Mazda 3 improved its safety record? My one friend tells me there is no significant difference in safety between new cars. Is there a place I can review the safety ratings?
Thanks.:)

Mazda 3 doesn't make the top safety cut for 2010. Read the bottom of the article for the cars that make the cut;

Why those two? What about the Kia Forte or Hyundai Elantra?

maybe op wants a car that will be worth more than $500 when he sells it in 5 years

Maybe, but if their concern is safety, both of those cars perform well and are loaded to the gills with standard safety features.
The Lancer is also a good choice.
