i have some reflective pin stripes and a few honda west dealership decals/stickers on the car.
i was wondering if anyone knew a safe and efficient way of removing these? besides not cutting my nails for a month and cat scratching them off.
i think it would make the car look alot cleaner.
thanx tips:thumbsup:

something along the lines of "goo gone", or any adhesive remover, be careful with some of them though... we had some crazy industrial strength stuff when i worked at VW, and it could actually eat at the paint if used too much........oh ya,or very simple, heat gun!

"Goo Gone"
rules best stuff ever.
Plus a hair dryer simply spray it down with some water lightly and then run the hair dryer over it. once you have a corner up take your time peeling back the decal and heat up the next part of the decal kinda like one smooth motion.
then use "Goo Gone" to take off the residu.

you might want to use a cutting compound as well after its off, depending on how long the sticker has been on there, to get rid of fading etc.

take a hair dryer to it, softens up the glue holding in on, then peel it back, you'll have some residue left behind, but just use a residue remover, let it sit for about a minute or so and rinse off, shouldn't take long at all.

its similiar to wax, you use it to take out scratches/blemishes in the paint. You can find it at any automotive store.

It will take long, cos reflective vinyl has glass particles in it which causes it to come off in "Flakes" instead of one piece when you peel it off....

the reflective pin stripe did come off nicely however there was sum fading underneath.
how does cutting compound help with the paint fade?

Do not use a cutting compound if you do not know what you are doing, If done wrong it will ruin your paint.:thumbsdow

I used to have a few decals on my car:rolleyes: All i did was pick at them with my fingernail untill all the decal came off. Then i wiped any sticky glue left with a wet rag. It took a while, but i didn't need to spend a penny on any of these fancy decal remover products, lol.
