How much do you want to spend? Are you looking at the 3rd row seating because you want soemthing BIG or because you need seating for 8 people?

whats your budget like?

acura mdx is great (dad has one) not overly huge, and better on gas then some.

I'ld list more, just give better description of what your price range and use for this is.

For up to $50K Get a new 192 hp BMW X3 SAV ! blue ! damn sexy ! or if you need 7 seats, MDX ! (same price as X3, but drive like a Van, instead of drive like a BMW)

For $30K CR-V ? or XL 7 (seat 7 then ) etc .. not much choices ...

$40K .... get a Freelander ... they are nice ..but no resale value ... :D

I love the GMC Envoy. You can pick up an envoy xl for around that price. 270hp and 270tq, third row seating, pretty luxurious. It would be my second choice next to a denali.

hey man... come down and check out the trail blazer LXT... you will love it man... can get the 275hp I6 or 285hp V8... (the I6 pulls alot better though) same as the envoy/bravada and the isuzu one..... i like the trail blazer the best though (kinda bias)

The best SUV out on the market is the Nissan Xterra. It doesn't have third row seating but it is one hell of a truck.

At least go to the dealership and look at a couple, you might fall in love with them.

i agree with ninspeed
Trailblazer's are sweet,
wouldn't go with a XL-7, cause your family sounds a little big for a suzuki. If it was me I would look for a used full sized suv.
Escalade or Excursion. But your looking for new so never mind.
MDX's are also awesome, new one got like 265 hp.

If he wants 2003/2004 the Infinity QX4 is gonna be hard to find becuz they stopped making it.

It changed to the FX45 in 2003. Which is even more pimp, just doesn't have the 3rd row seating.

and the pathfinder does not have the third row seating, but they are great.

MDX for 2004 is 55K but has DVD and Nav.

Pilot is about 46K,

GMC envoy sucks ass my mom has one and that thing has had more problems then it is worth.

Your choices with a 3 row seat and a limit of 50k is tuff to do in a SUV.

Make sure you test drive a Pacifica AWD if you've decided against a van. The Pacifica will give the best of both worlds of SUV and van and it has a DVD/GPS navigation system included.

If you are looking more for a more utilitarian type vehicle, check out the new Durango with the 5.7L Hemi.

The 3rd row on the volvo is shit. Saw one at a car show, can't believe they try to fit people in there. Midgets will have a hard time. :D

A lot of SUV's with 3rd row seats have "kiddie" seats in the back. Make sure you take a few of your family members with you when you're making your final choices otherwise you might find your third row passengers aren't comfortable.

i can't believe no one has mentioned the 4 runner... the best mid size SUV...

LOL he said in the first post he needs to seat 6 people - how many people posted suggesting an SUV that seats 4?? :dunno: :whocares:

I'm sure he won't mind tying a couple of his family members to the roof rack :nut:

Calm down guy.

Also the 4Runner has 3rd row seating bringing a total to 7 seats so you don't need to count again.

Sorry, didn't want to make it sound like I'm ripping on you alone but there's gotta be like 10 posts suggesting 4/5 Seater SUV's when he's got 6 people to move.

I'll be the first to admit that I don't know much about toyota's, and even less about their SUV's, but I though the Highlander was the only Toyota SUV that had a 3rd row of seats.

Edit: and I just looked and I do see that the 4runner has the 3rd row seat as an optional item on the top trim package so my apologies, i stand corrected :)

2005 Nissan Pathfinder

The new Pathfinder continues the Nissan SUV tradition it originated in providing an interior environment designed to enhance active family lifestyles. The addition of the 3rd row seat gives Pathfinder 7-passenger seating along with outstanding passenger/cargo flexibility. The split fold-down 2nd and 3rd row seats can be folded down individually, combining with the fold-down front passenger seat to provide 64 different seating/cargo configurations. The 2nd row seat, for example, features a 40/20/40 split feature with a one-touch release lever for easy access to the 3rd row.

Powering the new Pathfinder is a standard 4.0-liter DOHC V6, rated at 250-plus horsepower and 270-plus lb-ft torque (final figures will be announced closer to production). The new engine is part of Nissan's award-winning VQ engine series found in the 350Z, Maxima, Altima, Murano and Quest. The engine features a longer stroke (than the 3.5-liter version) and has been specifically tuned for SUV and truck applications.

Should be ready by Sep 04.
