Where do you guys usually park, since McMahon stadium is full now and im to cheap to pay 250 a month for campus parking.

Im assuming there has to be other options to park your car around the U of C?

Campus parking is far from $250 a month. Find someone to sell you a permit to park in front of their house.

Do they charge $5 at lot 10 now too? I noticed they increased lot 11 but not sure about 10.

Art Parkade is 450 a semester + transponder.

Open lots are generally $80~ a month.

Having a permit is worth it if you like to be at school right before classes and/or have huge gaps in between classes - in/out privileges, and you can park in any lot after 3:30. I use to show up @ school 5 minutes before classes and still make it on time. Of course when I was in school Art was only $500 + transponder for 8 months, and open lots were $60 a month.

Having a open parking lot annual pass = same price as parking in lot 11 or 12 (whatever the pay open lot is).

I had a art parkade pass for 2 years until the price kept going up, and I realized that annual permits had better benefits. Art is a pretty far walk (inside) from anywhere.

Does lot 10 or 11 have plug ins?
What about the volley dome? do they sell permits?

IIRC only the first few 'rows' in both lots 10 and 11 have plugin outlets. Otherwise your SOL.

10 and 11 do not have plug ins if I recall correctly, or maybe the few close spots but you'll have to be there real early.

Use to be packed by 730 including the overflow.
Then they put in $3 charge.
Pretty sure you can still snag spots at 9.

The best place to park is behind the TD bank at the mall right near the school (across the bridge). Seems like a far walk but I never got a ticket and it was great for the two years I went there.

wrong.

I was at harvey's this week, and some fagget came in and starting yelling at my buddy cause his car was parked at harveys. He stated "you better not leave your car here after your done eating, or your ganna get a ticket". He screamed this across the room (front door to the wait counter). The harveys manager was pretty ticked off at that guy and gave us free burger tickets :)

After leaving the food joint, i saw about 10 cars between TD and london drugs with tickets on their window.

Just noticed it this week, but they now sell permits for lot 59 (the one near lot 10, about a 2 minute walk towards the Children's hospital) for those interested. I believe it was $316+GST for the semester pass.

the trick is, you can't park between the London Drugs and TD. You got to park behind TD, no tickets there. Maybe it's changed though... who knows.

There was a crescent that I parked in behind the university train station and never got caught. It was south one block from the station and then one block east and kinda loops around, so I guess not technically a crescent but close enough lol.

Some of you might be able to park a little deeper in the research park and get away with it.

There's free parking in the residential area behind the london drugs if your willing to walk.

My monthly pass is 83 dollars a month for lot 13.

I think the prepaid visa method still works on some of the UC parking lots which are available for public parking at night. Last time I checked atleast.

Even after 3:30pm, it costs to park on campus?

Yup, main thing that changes after 330/430pm (depening on lot) is that some of the reserved-only day lots turn into pay-per-use public lots in the afternoon.

I always used to park on a residential street behind the church on Charleswood Drive, 34th ave maybe? There were only 5 or 6 of us who would park there each day. The connector road is permit only, then the next one over is 2 hour parking, but the one in the middle has no restrictions.

Did this for my last 2 years. Since all my classes were in MS/ICT it was just as close as most of the pay parking lots, plus it was free.

No plugins of course ;)

Is there a place I can park overnight for one night? My girlfriend lives there and I was planning on going up for Saturday night, but don't plan on taking the train and every lot I've seen says day use only.

btimbit, you can park on the campus lots after 10:00 PM. As long as you pick the car up early morning haha.
