I am looking for suggestions on companies that clean furnace vents. I have been developing my basement over the past couple months and i think this would likely be a good idea.

Have other people done this? Is it worth while?

Thanks

yeah, I am interested as well. Just bought my new house and the previous owners were disgusting, and with the renos I have done, I am sure it needs a cleaning.

Easymax does it. $12/vent.

I've used both Duct Blasters and Just-In-Time, happy with both. But, slight nod to Duct Blasters (did a pretty good job and were flexible with the scheduling).

You can still get the service even if your not a customer. Give them a call and see if they can come out to your house in Airdrie

^^^^ :werd:

They'll do it for anyone.

Lastweek they had a promotion where if you book an appointment by Friday at 4:30, they took $50 off the overall cost.

Ask them if they still have a deal.

It's totally a different service, just like enmax commercial internet.

Just called Direct Energy they offer the same service- it was $460 for the house. I laughed and said thanks.

Searching old threads i found someone that used Ram Cleaning so i called them. They charge either 10 bucks a vent or 200 for a furnace and water tank service including 12 vent cleans and each additional vent is 7 bucks. Havent counted my vents yet but that sounds half decent.

I will also try calling the above companies and see what they offer.

Some of the prices listed above are crazy.

My company offered this service for a number of years and the prices we had to compete with were usually $129 (includes 10 vents, furnace and new filter) + $10. If you're paying anything more then that then you're being ripped off.

Also a heads up to anyone that gets it done, ask to see how much came out of the vents and ask to see deeper then 6ft with their camera (the first 4 feet is always spotless). Many of the companies out there have such shitty equipment that not even 5% of the dust is removed from the vents.

This is why i have been price checking yet and still not 100% convinced. I have heard the above story from many people saying that duct cleaning is a waste of money and does nothing.

With the amount of drywall dust i created in the last couple months i would imagine anything would help but im still not 100% sold.

Do you still do this?

No, we don't. We actually stopped because after 2 years I still wasn't convinced. But some people swear by it and get it done every 2 years.

That's actually a very reasonable price. Do the run portable or out of a truck?
