Importing Car from the States - Best Place to Change Funds??

Hi - I am the proud soon-to-be owner of a Porsche C4S! I am about to send the wire down, but it has occurred to me that I might be better off to just get a money order from the bank and buy U.S. dollars elsewhere. Is this worth doing? If so, what are the places that people recommend, I hear Custom House has a good rate. Any other suggestions?

I've wired money down to the states before, much easier. You can see the car first before sending the money. That way you're not carrying large amounts of cash or cash equivalent through the border.
