View Full Version : Crash: Hood bent - Where to fix?

Wife rear-ended a beater truck with our Ford Aerostar. One headlight cover cracked, and the hood won't close anymore.

We don't have collision insurance.

Any recommendations of where to take the vehicle for fixing?

The hood is only slightly bent... Is it more likely that the hood will be repaired, or replaced?

Anyone care to venture a guess as to total cost?

Get a hood from pick n pull.

If the hood is bent (as in buckled) it is toast.

Make sure the lock isn't damaged as well or you might risk the hood popping up and smashing your windsheild when driving highway speeds.

That sucks. Any recommendation of someone to take it to?

The ford dealership I bought it from has a shop... Is this the best way to go or will they just hose me?

If its a 99-03, I'll get you a new one for $165 (List $300) - guaranteed to be the cheapest new you'll find in town.

Hobbema is an indian reserve, though I think there's a few hutterite colonys up there... But far less well known than the rez.

yes.... aerostar is the offical #1 rez-ride...

Hutterites do not drive minivans, they drive Extended Suburbans, diesel 1 ton crew cab longboxes and full size 14 passenger vans. These are occasionally referred to as "hutterite wagons".
