There were 250 Orange MazdaSpeed Proteges for Canada (2003). Probably double that for the Yellow and Titanium MSP's.....

If it's an orange MSP, it's 2003. The 2003.5 models were either blazing yellow or titanium grey. Very nice cars if you can find them

Actually It seems like every mazda dealer in cowtown still has at least one kicking around on the lot. Nice fun and quick cars

Hey, my friend picked up his Mazdaspeed 2 weekends ago. The dealer sold it to him for $4000 below sticker, since they wanted to get rid of the car (to make way for the new 3).

It was brand new, Titanium. Big jump from the $2000 above sticker that everyone wanted a month ago.

Are any new ones still available in the dealerships?

You can have fun with the MSP after about $100 in mods;)

yes and the bottom line is the mazda fans will still stay mazda, and the "2 power windows" likers will stay domestic!
MSProtege is damn nice though

isn't mazda owned by ford? doesn't that make it domestic? who knows?!

Some mazda's are rebadged fords and almost all mazdas for sale in North America are assembled at either current or former Ford plants.

In any case the mazdaspeed protege is a nice set of wheels, and comparing it to the SRT-4, it may not be as powerful, but the fit and finish is much nicer. It all depends on what you want. Most people don't realize how powerful the SRT-4's are and most would find it too harsh as a daily driver - the MSP on the other hand is polished enough to drive every day and powerful enough to blow the doors off most stock vehicles.

Haha, if the SRT was here in Canada at that time, I would've bought it instead:D
