My argument is that this is a stupid way to advertise. Because of safety reason. I'm not saying that that 50 tonne crane isn't capable of lifting that truck because as you can see in the picures it already did. But I'm saying this is a fucking windy town and that 2 tonne truck can easily swing until something happens. Which can be avoided be leaving it on he ground where it belongs. Accidents can be prevented. We had to drive beside this thing just to get to the brick. I still believe this is a retarded idea

you're absolutely right cranes DO fail at times, but mainly outside of North America. Here we have strict training protocols and inspections to make sure that doesn't happen even in worst case scenarios. I had a buddy that worked for Mammoet and its crazy the safe guards they have; as do its competitors.
Like I say, Im quite sure that truck was safe up there. Logically the truck would have been attached to the "frame" it was lifted up on hence the possibility of the wind to be taken well into account.
Besides; it wasn't even lifted at a steep angle regardless for the crane in question.

Back when WoodRidge Ford was in their glenmore location; they'd use cranes identical to this one to lift the vehicles onto the roof with.

holy shit im gone for a couple of hours and all you people goiing crazy and shit! anyways, i do know the chick that did this to her car, she thought it was funny i thought she was an idiot (hence the thread) she wrote got rice? then i proceeded to write my username and so on. when i arrived at tim hourtons (where we hang out) the damaged was already done. i just showed up to see the aftermath lol. i dont know why she did this but to each their own.

i said beyond people are stupid because i was referring to one guy but it was a joke.

about the crane i know it was secured up there but i thought it was a stupid idea thats all, they could of spent that money on raffles or something i dunno:dunno:

actually, im a 'semi' expert on crane rigging, been rigging for almost four years. that crane has MORE than enough capacity to lift that sucker.
and it takes a pretty heavy gust to get that truck swinging dangerously.
