Los Angeles gets the number two spot for most polluted.

It has to be a really close tie for first. I hear that they can't land planes safely without navigational assistance the majority of days now.

Whoo, China is number 1! California losers.

That list is a pile of fucking bullshit. Nothing but shock value journalism. There are much, much, much, much more polluted places on Earth, they just aren't as internationally known.

Wired just did a whole feature story on the most polluted place in the United States and it sure wasn't on that list because it's a small little town in Oklahoma that nobody would care about anyways.

Fucking journalism these days.

I was sure this was going to be another "let's slam Alberta" article about the oil sands.

Lake Karachay in Russia is just plain scary

the niger delta is that polluted because companies generally run above-ground pipeline and tie-ins there and the idiot nigerians tap them to siphon off oil and sell it on the black market. Its no surprise its so polluted and for once 90% of the blame doesn't rest on the producers.

This may help. (a much better article)

I was quite surprised Chenobyl (among other cities) weren't on that list so I dug a bit deeper.

That list doesn't start on the first, but you can scroll through quickly. Much of that same cities "grace" that list as well.
