What's wrong with my windows media player?

I downloaded WMV-9 a few weeks back, and now, when I watch most videos, it flashes, like it only shows every second or third frame. But, when the movie is in MPEG format, it works fine. I've tried most of the settings, and can't seem to make it work. Is there a patch or something that I need to download, cause it's really p!ssing me off.

try searching for the nimo codec pack, i find it solves most media player problems.

downloads.com might have it, or kazaa, and if they dont, pm me, and ill send it to ya.

check if you have a virus or spyware installed

download adware or spybot
run the update, search, delete all spyware found.

some programs youve installed my not work after like kazaa, or other spy based software.
