Strait from the horses mouth...
Alberta Insurance Freeze (http://www.gov.ab.ca/home/index.cfm?page=598)
- The rate freeze applies to auto insurance policies that expire on or after October 30.
- Even if your insurance company had rate increases approved in the past, they are still required to freeze rates at existing levels if your policy expires on or after October 30.
- The freeze applies to Alberta and non-Alberta based insurance companies.
I've also recently read an article here (http://www.cbc.ca/stories/2003/11/03/altainsurance031103) about the freeze and personally wrote New Democrat Brian Mason supporting his views that "Premiums should be rolled back 57 per cent, which is roughly the same amount they've increased in one year."
I'm thinking of starting a PETITION and need some feedback for support. Will all of you sign?
