i was wondering what people were using for bike stands on their street bike

and if anyone knows anywhere locally we can get decent ones?

i bought a set of the yellow ones from Canadian Tire. regular price is $100 for the set. just make sure you buy new bolts for the front stand as the ones included will bend/snap sooner or later. but other then that, they worked well and usually go on sale for $70 or so quite often

good luck

or for a stand that you don't need to modify to work:

I'll pay the extra money to not have a stand known to have issues with failure. But I bought mine from redline...not blackfoot :poosie:

I made my own for my rear. I just welded up some 3/4" tube steel, and mounted that on some heavy duty castor wheels.

but just do some measuring and you can make one quite easily as well. For the "spools" as they're called (what the lift holds the bike on); every one I tried bent, so rather then go out and buy one I just use a 3/8" rod that I slip through the rear axle. Works great.

The front one I'd probably just buy, as its a lot more technical to make, considering it has to hold up the bike via the triple tree.

I have a pitpull one from blackfoot, cost around 200 + 20 bucks for the spools, works nice. I still like having another person around when I put it on the stand

I have a front/rear one if you want. I'll let it go for cheap. PM me.

I don't know about other bikes...but I know that on the Yamahas draining the oil on the kickstand gets an extra 1/2 L or so out...
