My family and I will be going to the football game at McMahon Stadium this Saturday and I was wondering what the best way to get there would be. We are from Lethbridge and I haven't been around Calgary too much.
Should we take the LRT? The website says the Banff Trail LRT stops across the street. I've only ever been on the LRT from Southalnd to the Saddledome. Is there a direct LRT route staright there?
Or should we just drive?

Personally, I would just drive. But yes, the NW leg of the LRT stops right across the street.

if youre in and out of calgary i'd say from Lethbridge , get into calgary, park at Anderson (or somerset/bridlewood w/e) - train up to University - game - gtfo - train to anderson - out the city back to lethbridge.

or get in the city early early and park near mcmahon, as with any sporting event, traffic sucks ass before and after games no matter where you go

The blue line is direct just get on a Crowfoot train.
If you get on at the purple line, you'll have to transfer anywhere downtown.

Personally, like someone said, park at Anderson and take the train North, should say Crowfoot on it. Just follow the people with Stamps Jerseys on.

Banff Trail is the closest stop to the stadium.

Be a team player with a solid work ethic, proven skill and a desire to ALMOST be good enough for the NFL? :D

McMahon isn't all that bad to drive to. There's a couple really easy spots to park for free in the surrounding communities and the traffic after is never really bad.

That being said, I usually get hammered at football games so the train is none too bad either haha.

I would drive. Parking is decent there.

If you want to take LRT, take a train called "Crowfoot", and get off at the Station called "Banff Trail" as you said.

Why does it have to say Crowfoot on it? I've never notice that the trains have writing on them. If we get on at Anderson we have to make sure it says Crowfoot?

Calgary Transit has thrown a bit of a wrench into the works as the LRT will be shut down in the downtown core this weekend (link (http://www.calgarytransit.com/detours/201_202_disruption_20100925.html)). Shuttle buses will be running though.

Since the train will be a pain in the ass this weekend I would recommend that you park at the Church on the West side of the stadium. I think it cost $10.00 but its easy and worth it.

Crowchild to 24th NW also parking available at the UofC

You could drive to the Brentwood C-Train station and take the train from there. This way, you only have to be on the train for two stops and you avoid the shuttle buses downtown. I imagine that most people would take the south train after the game and the north train would be less packed so less of a wait time after the game as well.
