I've been out of the loop for 2 years, but I was wondering how's the nightlife in downtown Calgary nowadays. Clubs open and close; so which are the hot ones right now?

Dance or hip hop preferred. Please help? haha

It all depends where the shows are these days.. if you just wanna get wasted and sleez on girls, roady/vinyl/mansion/back alley are your best bet.
Opus and Hifi are fun if you're with the right crowd/know the people that go there.. V-bar is fun, same deal though.. i like those places cause i know people that go to them often/work at them..

Roadhouse: Homos and reaaally sexy girls
Vinyl: University Kids
Radio Park: Awesome, almost the new warehouse
Amsterdam Rhino: Lots of hot girls, downstairs is hardstyle trance and such too.
Hi-Fi: Gangsters
Opus: Gangsters
West: A Big Mix of everyone. 21+ though always :/

Hudsons is similar....

pub/bar style atmosphere till like 10... then play music and open up a dance floor... good times

I like RoadHouse as I never feel cramped in there, I enjoy the music and the bartenders/beertub girls have been great to me and my buddies. The women are very nice, and not just appearance-wise. There don't seem to be many douches there either. Industry night was awesome & dirt cheap ($3.50 for any drink).

i honestly dont think its that bad anymore...few years ago i would of said that but now its fine being asian or whatever. Or maybe im just getting older? :(

Opus is the most fun club to me then comes whiskey. Flames central on event nights is pretty awesome. It really all depends in which crowd you hang with.

The bank is coming back and was pretty good last time I went. Mostly asians till around 130am and there was brown people showing up.

I've been out of the scene for like 10 years +. Hit up Spin or Outlaws. Denny Andrews is pretty bumping most nights.. Yankee Doodles is a pretty badass sports pub too.

VERY VERY small place. and very weird crowd it attracts. I was there last friday, had good beats, it was hot in there, and the crowd was just meh.

Mercury is my favorite. I've only been to the Rhino a couple times but I like it too.

Mercury has a good scene.
West is OK for just chilling in the lounge area.
HiFi is good on Fridays. I haven't been on Saturdays.
I've been hearing good things about Habitat as well.
