Adjourning court date (searched)

I already searched and did not find anything helpful or recent information regarding this. There isn't anything on the Alberta Courts website either.

I have a ticket that I pleaded not guilty to. It's just a stupid ticket that carries no demerits but I want to fight it. Problem is my court date is set in May and something just came up.

Question is can I call them to get my court date changed or do I need to go there in person? If I can call, does anyone know the number?

I'm under the impression you can call and get it changed.

I also heard a rumor, that if one chooses to fight the ticket in court, and then changes the date a few times, they'll throw it out because all the courts want to do is move it as quick as possible.
