How'd you get the "Battle Damage"?

Someone did a hit-n-run on me winter 07-08. My car was parked across the street, perpendicular to my drive way. And I think it was the newspaper delivery guy backing out of my driveway too fast. At least that is what my CSI skills tell me. No other damage was sustained, just the cracked bumper. I fixed it with zip-ties and considered getting a new bumper but I figured someone else would probably just do it again. Besides, it has grown on me, and it gives the car some character.

At least 4 seasons on the winters (came with the car when I bought it back in 2006)
About 2 seasons on the summers (bought them fall 2008)
Keep in mind I drive about 10,000km a year and the car had just over 100,000km when I bought it off the original owner.

It is the DX trim so it has power steering, driver and passenger airbags, a tachometer, and a rear windshield wiper.

No A/C, cruse-control, or ABS. Although I'm not sure if any 96-98 hatchbacks had those options.

I'm looking to get $5000. Please don't ask me if I will take $3500. I know that this is higher than the Blue Book Value of a 1998 Civic but clearly my asking price is justified.
