Baton Rouge / LSU = Insane.


I went to the game this saturday (videos below). Attendance at teh stadium was 93,000 people. Tailgaiting was ridiculous. Everyone was hammered from Grandmas to 13 yr olds. I have never seen anything like this - and it happens every single home game!

Soooo many hot girls at LSU. Hard to talk to though. Met a couple really nice girls but they were from California and Texas. We were told multiple times that we "don't fit in". All of the locals seem a bit clicky. We ended up hanging out with the law students quite a bit, but it was still hard to feel like we belonged. Basically if you don't have the Baton Rouge Swoosh, you don't fit in. We counted 3 people at the bar that had hair gel.

College bars are ridiculous every night of the week. I was there for work but hard a hard time not partying every night. Tiger Land is full of bars (mostly for freshman students) Bull Dogs is a bit of an older crowd (although they didn't let me at first because i had an "out of country" ID). Great live music at Walk Ons, great food at Rouls, cheap beer everywhere.

Saturday game day was preceded by an influx of 100,000 people into the city on Friday night. Every bar was packed. Everyone was hammered. The tailgating started on Friday afternoon. Groups of Tennessee fans walking in orange getting in shouting matches with LSU fans calling them 'Tiget Bait!'. The atmosphere was pretty unreal. We hit up the tailgating parties at 10am the next morning and were smashed by game time. After the game the party continued... We remember thinking it felt like midnight and it was only 8pm. Even though Tennesse lost, all the fans were still out and drinking with the LSU people. Live bands everywhere. Everyone drinking till 3m on the street. It was a Long Day. Good times. Glad to be coming home to give my liver a rest.

If you like tail gating, BBQ, alligator snaks, drinking yourself into a stupor every night, and football this place is for you. I'd compare it to the Red Mile x 10^3 but repeated every 1-2 weeks.

LSU is down 4 points but has amazing come back and is at 1s and goal with 26 seconds on the clock. Crowd is INSANE. Then they let the clock run out and CROWN GOES ANGRY INSANE.

They're waaaay friendlier in Austin. Awesome vids. It's funny, some of their college football games would embarrass the total of 5 CFL games attendances.

^Agreed. Austin was soo much fun. 6th street or ave? Its like a slice of California in Texas. New Braunfels tubing is where its at. We saw our first pair of boobies before we even rented out tubes haha.
