View Full Version : Grey Eagle Casino complaining about road construction

Casino says that the confusing interchange at Glenmore and 37th street is hurting business. The temporary interchange that was necessary because the Tsuu Tina nation rejected the ring road deal.

I wish the city/province would just close off 37th street until they agree to the ring road deal.

Brilliant idea... but it doesn't matter, they'll always find something to complain about.

They knew this is the result when they hijack the ring road for ransom.

I got it right the first time when it just opened.

To be fair, construction sometimes has the overpass completely closed and things get really confusing. But I've found that just reading the signs goes a long way in figuring out where to go.

Honestly though, when people get there, do they actually leave because it's too confusing? They'd find a way in. They wouldn't drive there, and be like 'hmpht, i can't get in so I'll just go home now'. They'd have to be turned off going there in the first place.

They're relying on the business of people that can't grasp the concept of simple mathematics. So yes, idiots are the only customers they have.

It's a little confusing, but not that bad. Guess the ring road and $240 million + doesn't look so bad now, does it?

I bet 90% of their business stems from addicted gamblers...they would dig their way in if they had to.

Someone should tell them exactly where to stuff their worthless opinions. This is what happens when you fuck over 1 million + people. As far as i'm concerned, as long as we stay off their "sacred" ground, who gives a shit if people can't get to their casino or their land.:drama:

The GE is actually one of my favorite poker rooms in town, second to stampede, but still see nothing wrong with the grey eagle.... They shouldn't be the ones being hurt for the Tsu Tsina's idiocy.

From what I heard, it wasn't the Casino that kicked the Auto-X'ers out, it was a complaint from a nearby resident.

Well that's most unfortunate for them. Maybe if their band leaders weren't such dumb-asses, there wouldn't be an issue.

I have to agree with this. This was exactly my first though, most of the people going to the casino know how to get there and won't be deterred by a bit of construction.

GE is concerned about the newbs coming that will have difficulty getting there. They want the easiest route possible for the fresh fish.

i have driven the glenmore for 3 years now back and forth every day and watched the construction from day 1 and it was perfectly fine with the lights for me at the times i drove.

now the speed limits change every week or so, the lane patterns change every 2-3 weeks, i don't blame ppl for being confused especially if they havent been down that area for a while, everythings changed alot.

but grey eagle complaining is retarded, they brought it upon themselves  ppl can't come feed their gambling addiction

I boycott anything Native owned, or what can benefit the natives in anyway.
I dont care if that sounds harsh, or what people think about that that are going to quote this message saying what a "Jerk" or "redneck" I am.
:dunno:
About the only time I'd ever step foot in there is to use their bathrooms, and thats it.

1. I drive it daily from sprinbank to whc and it's not bad at all, unless you're a complete idiot.

2. The indians can go fuck themselves, I hope the casino burns down.

they deserve nothing for the grief they've cause the rest of calgary.

Was late, no real signs, pilons everywhere. Abviously it's easy after you realise that there is a new way in. My buddy tried to take that left at glenmore which was the original way in and it was blocked so he had to do a u-turn and come back down the other way as he had no idea of the changes. I guess if you don't no about it, it's tricky. But, abviously it is just a traffic circle and overpass.

Correct me if im wrong, isn't there only one entrance into the reserve allowed due to a contract signed who knows how many years ago?

Which would technically make this second entrance into the reserve an illegal entrance and against their contract, allowing the city to fully close it without any wrong doing but possibly some uprising may result from the casino if that were to happen.

^ The length of time it takes to get into the damn restaurant to eat keeps me away from that place... good food though.

That said, I agree with the sentiment expressed here... it's their problem, not ours.

I think that only one entrance is required (meaning that there can be more than one).

i know the treaty says that any native may enter or leave their reserve at any location, but it doesn't say anything about being provided with a road from the city or province.

their could be more...

FTR i would also like to say that tsu tina nations gets an absurd amount of money from the province b/c highway 22 crosses over the corner of their land.
these people really need no more money from the working people.

Wow, so much racism in this thread!

kolumbo69

Racism is based on prejudice of a specific race based on unfounded claims, this thread has peoples opinions on how the nation was given more than an adequate deal for money and passage to there land and businesses only to turn there back and get pissy about it.

So take your bs unfounded Racist comment and GTFO

If you know so much about how the reserves are run, why don't you educate us. I have personal experience, I have seen first hand how the generous handouts our government has given has done nothing more than create a welfare nation.

I also know there are alot of hardworking Natives, and there most common atribute is they got off the reserve.
