$1500 clutch job on 05 Civic?

Don't remember what model her car is but regardless I think it's a bit high for a clutch job? $1500 for a 05 Civic.

Should tell her to go elsewhere rather than the dealer in the future. Recommendations?

Did she not shop around? Check with a few other shops, I'm sure you'll find the cost to be much less...

Unless there replacing the master, slave, and flywheel with it thats the only reason I see it should be that much.

Clutch on that should be around 600 - 900 installed.

I think the labour alone for that would be ~$700. That's how much Option Import charged me for my S2000 a few years back.

That's what I figure would be a good price, $600-800. Some women don't shop around and just go to a dealer. I didn't ask specific questions as to what the $1500 covers. I told her I will check with some peeps and let her know of a better shop to go to for future repairs :-)

Yeh for civics a Luk clutch is like 170ish for the part. If you go for a cheaper one like fenco or sachs (I think its called) There like 110 ish.

Luks a really good brand never had problems with it.

i got my v6 tib clutch done from the dealer for a grand. and they have to do a ton more work to change that out

$1500 isn't normal for a clutch job. It's a fuckin civic. Whoever is telling you that's normal is either trying to make themselves feel better from getting bent over at the dealer, or just doesn't know shit about cars. Drive around and I guarentee you the first private shop you see will charge half that.
