Kim Jong Un at Kumsusan Memorial Palace. The equivalent of Commander in Chief.

Side note: Kim Jong Un took his schooling in Switzerland.

I wonder if he's crazier than his old man?

Fixed. Just like how Russian Communism ended, this could be how North Korea's communism might end

Doubt it.

He is the younger son and was chosen over the older one. IIRC, the older one has embraced western ways and spends time with hookers gambling in Macau. I could be wrong though.

Wow, this is huge. I guess I subconsciously never thought Kim Jong Il would willingly hand over control to anyone.

But yes, hes younger son has been his favorite for years having been the only one to really follow in Kim Jong Il's footsteps.

No doubt he'll be just as wacky and out of touch with reality. I believe Team America's spoof on him would be eerily close to real if we were ever to meet the guy in real life. I wrote a paper on the guy back in university and was blown away with the arrogance and ignorance. One of his hobbies is to steal the Headers from Newpapers around the world and reprint his own text praising him and North Korea. For example, there was an "article" from the main Newspaper in Winnepeg praising KJI as a master of all things worth knowing and being one of the most respected and feared world leaders.

North Korea is fascinating ina kind of ignorant and dangerous way.

It's like a giant sociological experiment.

Yah I've done some pretty extensive research into the place. I think one thing that makes the DPRK stand out is that it is the last of cult-of-personality failed Communist states ruled by a Iron fisted despot with total control over the media.

I'd really like to visit the place if it wasn't for the cost, I'd also like to go on an individual tour, from what I've gathered from most people is if you go by yourself and go about it properly you can usually get the guides (who are usually high up party members) to talk a little politics.

Where else in the world can you see craziness like this?
