hahaha....I thought I'd post a few pictures of an old work vehicle I had. The brakes needed repair...I knew that. It was a really crappy truck so I just thought I'd drive it into the ground. Well the brakes finally "let go" altogether one day. Pedal to the floor and fluid dripping down the inside of the rim. "Hmm...they feel a little spongy!"

Here's how bad they got:

Haha on our f250 work truck, the back pad completely disappeared on the back passenger side, so the pistons of the caliper were directly pushing on the rotor. Needless to say, a new rotor and caliper were required haha.

My buddy had a old pos cavi that i baught off of him for $100. The front brakes were so bad the caliper wore through the disk though the outside surface, through the fins for air circulation and into the backside of the inner surface. The disk IN TOTAL was 3/8" thick.

EDIT: Spelling

I knew the brakes were bad but i had no idea they were THAT bad. I drove the thing a few blocks from his appartment to my garage. It would take 10 car lengths to stop from a light 30km/hr roll...with my foot to the floor!

I had to replace the calipers, rotors, pads, drums, shoes, and rubber brake lines. Which came to about $400. It wasn't a bad deal however as i drove it for two winters after than then traded it in when i picked up my jetta for $500.

Sounds like you may also need some new tires to along with your brake change.

Any interest in buying mine? They're almost brand new by your standards.

$300 OBO takes both of them...... :dunno:

What's with the love connection there eh.

That's crazy Dave, I'm pretty sure those 1,000 lbs tile jobs didn't help saving on wear and tear.

I apologize for having a picture of my z06 tires next to another car. I have edited the picture so as not to offend anybody.
