I am looking at the Mazda 3 GS and the Honda Civic LX. I am leaning towards the Mazda 3 but am unsure about the quality of vehicle since it is new although its a Volvo Platform?

In the longrun with resale and breakdowns which is better Mazda 3 or Civic.

Also since I live in BC Civic insurance is crazy.....

since they are both relatively new cars u will never know about the supposed quality.

best thing u can do is judge for yourself while test driving and go by the manufacturer rep, which imo is good for both honda and mazda. without a doubt, u have a better chance for higher resale with the honda.

BC is provincally rated my Grand AM GT in Ontarion was $980 per year, here it is $1500 with a 43% discount, the lesser car eg civic LX is $1600 the SI is $1800. So for what I am used to paying its more. Where the Mazda 3 is most likely $1400

I have had no accidents or tickets.

The new Mazda 3 looks nice. Has the potential.
Honda's overpriced by comparison.

Unless you're leasing, resale ain't going to matter that much. Test drive both and go with the one you like better. You are going to be paying a lot of money each month for it, so it had better be something you like, instead of what we like :D
