Did some calling around today... Print shops are nucking futz! 80-150$ to run 50 buisness cards off (going to be changing up contact info soon)?!?! We wont discuss the price for 25...

Anyone know a shop that'll do a small run for a reasonable price? Simple black & white image on the front (already scaled and setup) and some URLs on the back...

Just had a 1000 done for around $180 at a local shop just to the east of Rascal's Pet Supplies on Edmonton Trail. Single color (raised black ink) on special order paper - this paper actually increased our cost. Contact Brentwood Printing at 403-282-1521.

Of note, the price to do a small run may be more expensive when figured out to a per card basis - I know for us, getting a thousand done is cheaper on a per card basis as compared to getting 500 done.

As an alternative, I have seen Calgary Economy Printers on Edmonton Trail offer some pretty good deals - contact them at 403-277-2995. Their roadside sign often offers deals like 500 color starting at $50 and black on white starting at $20.

Ebay. As long as your graphics are compatible with theirs, way cheaper.

I use Minuteman Press South, next to O'Sullivan's, 89$ for 500 at a time, one side one color and when I call in an order they usually have it done before I can get around to picking them up. There is cheaper but these guys are waaaaaay convenient.

I got a good deal at Staples. Sometimes they have sales.

I always use vistaprint.ca for business cards; I pay about 30 with shipping and tax for a 1000 cards. Great quality and i haven't had any issues with the cards themselves only thing is that if you do use them make sure you give them a gunk email account i learned that the hard way when i got five emails a day to buy more crap from them such as pens, mugs, shirts, you name it.

*shipping takes about 4-5 days

I know that average rate around here is about $100 for 250. You can get WAY better pricing if you use out of province/outsourced shops.

I have used Squareflow (http://squareflo.com/index.php?page=Hello) before and they do great work.

On another note a lot of places will charge you a base fee for setup even if you are printing only 50 cards. (to make it worth their while)

Why such a small run? As you can see by the replies, you'll get a WAY better price for a larger quantity. Printers find it to be a pain in the ass to set up a new job for 50 cards, which is why you're paying a lot more. For that number you may be better off just getting a DIY kit from Staples.
