Saw one today on Crowchild Southbound just before downtown. Get your cameras out and snap some pics of the White 2011 STi Sedan driving around town. Looks really really good, Subaru did an amazing job with it and I would absolutely drive one.

Is there any difference in performance compared to the hatch?

I barely had time to see the car much less take a pic while I was trying to turn the corner. And, as I suspected, someone else has a pic posted already, plus the ppl who said they would snap a pic of one nearby their house.

The one in the pic I posted is a coworker of mine. I was actually the one looking to buy that STi, but the people at Subaru Calgary are fucking idiots and I got fed up with them. He came along with me on a couple test drives and loved it, so when I told the dealership to fuck off, he swooped haha

Honestly from what I saw today it does not look that way, but, I did not get as close of a look as I wanted. Besides, what are aftermarket tail lights for anyway right?

Just because they just came out, give it a year and they'll spam the streets like the current STI's. I do have to say I love the look of the sedans though, very aggressive, much better than the hatch IMHO. I'd like to see the new WRX and STI sedan side by side, I think just the existance of the WRX looking exactly like my car would make me think twice about the new STI sedan. I'm sure there's a lot of difference under the covers but it just loses something with another cheaper model looking almost the same.

Something about the tail looks a little off/awkward. Trunk a tad bit short perhaps but other than that, looks badass. That Kia Rio spoiler looks like the DC5 Type R Spoiler haha

Have to agree with you - but overall, much better looking than the previous STI.

Only problem is I can't help but think "Sexually Transmitted Infection" every time I see one :D

They are identical except for the spoiler, rims, and sti badges. Which IMO kind of takes away from owning a STi.

max_boost
10-05-2010, 11:07 AM
It's near identical. Don't forget the 06/07/WRX/STI looked very similar too.

Are the rims a different spoke? They look the same too, just in a different finish.

Chester

I believe the rims on the STi are enkei's and are 18's rather than 17's.

If you have skills you can get the base STI sedan for under $40K out the door including tax.

I just picked up my Sport Tech 5 -door white STI.

With tax, pdi etc..
also they through in
3m, Scotch guard, Tint, Rear mat in the hatch, exhaust covers, front lip, rust protection and since I was a return customer they reduced my finance rate by 1%.

$46,600

I think gold wheels are on there way out. The car looks so much cleaner with the gunmetal or silver wheels. I even like the Enkei (Sp?) look better then the bbs wheels on the american models

Well it looks like I'll be joining the Subaru family shortly..

Im going to be picking up a 2011 Subaru WRX Limited Sedan! I suppose it will be my Wife's.. but it should be fun to drive around in.
I dont have the final prices yet, but the deal thus far was too good to pass up. Any accessories that are must have? Besides 3m I have no idea what else to get..

Armrest if they haven't changed it. The stock one is non existant and has 0 adjustability.

Im pretty excited, we ended up getting a Pearl white WRX Limited sedan! SHould be picking it up next week.

The best we could do was MSRP-2k including 3m.. (According to CCC there is only $3400 markup, so Im happy with that)
I didnt notice the armrest thing, so I will have to think about that. We both park indoors, so no need for the starter. My Wife already said no mods... so we will have to see. Apparently thats what my Audi is for.

We asked about winter tires & wheels, and the best they said they could do was simply adding them to the lease... Their package was $1746, so I figure I could do better through TireBob.

How much does my Yaris have? Umm about 106.
How much does the WRX have? 265
How much does your Audi have 475.

Hmmm....

I imagine the WRX will still be fun to boot around in...

For whatever reason the 2011 STI has been a dog in testing. Every single magazine has recorded slower acceleration and skidpad times compared to 2008-2010 models tested. It's to the point now where you are paying extra for solely for the 6-speed and Brembos since they look nearly identical now to the WRX. STI seems rather pointless.

I think i am getting old cause I personally think the new widebody sedan looks stupid... I like that it's widebody, but my beef is that it totally looks like an afterthought, which it is. The Evo X's fenders look like they belong to the car. On this car, I just don't think it works. It looks like some ricer threw a body kit on there. Combine that with some serious wheel gap and I just don't think it looks good at all.

I never liked this current WRX, and I hate the widebody sedan even more. I was actually warming up to the narrowbody WRX sedan, especially this white one with grey rims and maybe slightly lowered that's close to my place. But this new one... Way too rice for me.

Interesting... there were definitely a few WRX's on the lot, and they gave a list of ones they could have in a few days. There is still a plasma blue sedan sitting out front! We picked up our car on Monday, and my Wife has been very happy with it. Gotta throw our winter wheels on soon, grabbed a set of Gold 2004 Sti wheels!

Did you ask about certain colors? I know for a White Hatch we were told Feb 2011.

It is a bit boy racerish with the widebody, I just think when it comes to resale value the widebody will be more sought after.

Love the paint job, but it's a bit tough to dig the rear of this car. I'm trying to like it but it looks like a Kia in the back lol.. And the huge spoiler doesn't help that much. It's weird compared to the last generation sedan. Regardless, I would still love to own a car like this. :)

Yeah the more I see these cars the more I find that they are actually a pretty ugly car. That pick above doesn't show one clean nice line. The front end looks too long, the C-pillar looks terrible and the bulging front fender isn't cohesive with the side profile. I can maybe understand the 18-25 year old crowd liking it though as it does have that 90's aftermarket body kit look to it.

When the next generation cars come out in 2013 these cars are going to be for sale left and right as this isn't a style that is going to age gracefully either as it's based on mid 2000 Corolla styling.

I like 5 speed manuals actually, with the kind of wide powerband throughout the RPM's the WRX265 has already you don't really need more gearing to take advantage of it.

That is just me though

I love my wrx265 but on the highway sometimes I wish it had an extra gear.

IMO gold goes well with blue, white or red but not so much with neutral colours.

What do you want me to say? That I love the styling when I don't? I don't think I have said the car is a POS or anything. You should read the concept thread. I actually like the Impreza concept car.;) Subaru isn't the be-all-end-all to everyone you know and their cars aren't above critisism. Tough time convincing me that these cars are anything more than bland cars with afterthought boy-racer exterior mods but that's my opinion. I completely understand that kids like the ricer body kit look.

In all honesty, the Lancer RalliArt almost prices itself out of the WRX market.. nearly 5k more for arguably a car in the same category. I certainly cant come up with $5,000 worth of differences.

(Premium/Limited packages... RalliArt $40, WRX $35)

IMO both those numbers are too high, especially the Ralliart. Both cars, in a happy world, would be in the 30-32k range.

WRX and STI pricing to me are fair. The Ralliart and EVO in Canada are overpriced for sure.

Lol, you're obviously entitled to your opinion about the car and the way it looks. I myself, thought it looked ridiculous back in '08 and for whatever reason it grew on me, even though it is not going to win any awards based on it's current design.

I know the subaru isn't the be-all end-all, while it can be claimed that the car has some practicality with sporting appeal.

Your posts concerning the Subaru just remind me of the Guy who gets dumped by a chick, gets a new one and then spends most of his time bitching about the old one and how ugly she is and how slow she is. I more curious as to why you post more negatives about the Subaru than positives about the Evo.

I found with the limited package its pretty good value. There isnt much to choose from thats even close in price if you want AWD, 4 doors, leather and a Sunroof. (Wifes wants) I just wanted something that would be fun to drive if and when I had to take it. She would have been fine with the N/A 2.5...

I just wish some of these cars cost close to what cars cost in US.

How about Ford Fusion Sport 3.5 AWD? That's the only car I can think of.
A lot more car for the money with way more features similar maybe better price, same power etc, but those two are way too different to compare. :D

The only Ford we looked at was the Edge... can't say Im a huge fan of much else in their line up. My Wifes first choice was the Hatch, but we would have had to wait till February.
Also helps that Centaur is literally 3 blocks from my house!

Saw a purple sedan parked by an Evo at the Uni

I know you can get up to $2000-$3000 off on the WRX but unfortunately I don't think Mitsu is as willing to move on pricing.

The cars are actually quite close, Ralliart base $31,800 +4200 for premium package, WRX $32,500 +3000 for premium package.

WRX is faster.

Mitsu handles better?

I've been thinking for awhile and most likely the Ralliart will be my next car. The deal maker is the twin clutch auto and the HID's are a nice bonus.

Sedan or sportback? With Recaros or without? I always found it strange that you get the EVO X MR alcantara/leather seats with the Ralliart but cloth in the EVO X GSR. The alcantara/leather seats are so much nicer.

Definitely sedan.

Debating on the premium package as it's an extra $4200 but you would get the leather, stereo, sunroof, HID's etc.

I probably won't pull the trigger until summer but it's definitely on the radar as the next daily driver car lol

Mitsu dropped the pricing on the 2011 Ralliart but you don't get the recaros on the base model anymore.

Also WRX is suppose the handle much better than the Ralliart according to all the mags out there because of the weight and bad tires on the Ralliart. If you do end up test driving one let us know what you think.

I know this is a STi thread haha but since we are already talking about the Ralliart already, I think one of you guys said the tires were too small on the Ralliart? 215/45/18 but it should be 225 or 235? The Evo has 245.

But what do I know, I think Mitsu would know better than me.

My requirements for a daily driver are, 0-60 in low 5's, HIDs/AWD/Dual clutch auto and remote starter and the Ralliart is the only car that covers all that. :D

The WRX beats the Ralliart hands down in all performance aspects, even when the RA has equal tires.

Really, the main thing the RA shines at is being prettier (in the eye of the beholder, of course). The TC-SST is good, much better than the DSG from a performance standpoint but clunkier as a DD, and the 09 I bought has recaros and HIDs standard (not the case now).

Still, I never drive at 10/10ths so I chose the one that fits the look I wanted, hit the same performance benchmarks (0-60 in the 5's, decent though not stellar handling) and was a bit more rare...

The adjustable ACD doesn't hurt either; it doesn't alter power distribution, only lockup characteristics, but you can tell the big difference between modes in the winter time....in Tarmac, the tail kicks around quite easily, in Snow, it understeers like a bastard but Gravel is just right for how I want it to act in winter!
