BF3 competitor?

Not much actual gameplay video or extreme detail but it's a vs North Korea conflict which is perfect for an FPS imo, not many ppl have done anything in regards to gaming and that country

Tanks, helos, drones with guns, UAVs all playable.

Battlepoint system you can buy helos/tanks etc in-game no need for respawn

anyone remembers the Patrick Swayze movie Red Dawn when the Soviets and Cubans invade suburban US, the writer/director is the writer for this game lol

when the guy says big multiplayer @ 32 players, maybe for console guys but i hope they up that # for PC (a nice 64 man server like BF/ARMA) which will have dedicated servers btw:

Thanks Nismo, i was actually gonna start this thread :) I was looking at this game yesterday and instantly thought of Red Dawn.

Looks good, but def. not a BF3 competitor. I'll add, I would rather play this than any modern warfare game that's coming out though...

Maybe I'll pirate it first to see how it runs before purchasing since I don't care about SP at all

no, lol i posted that before BF3 ever showed a trailer, not a BF3 rival at all, but i had the privilege of Alpha testing this, all i can say is, already preordered off steam (cause Free copy of Metro 2033 with it was too hard to pass up as well)

anyone been to the website? they've been doing this huge marketing campaign for this game, timeline is interesting to look through, http://www.homefront-game.com/#/timeline .

from the little bit i've read from some reviewers, the game really tries to tear at your emotions (especially if youre american moreso i guess), i guess piles of dead bodies, torture and stuff, the early reviews for this game are saying this game might be a hidden gem, all 8/10s and higher so far, but out of all these i've only heard of the first website before lol:

Game is ok, it's just a shittier version of COD. The drones are pretty fun though. I'm going to try and play it a bit more on the weekend. The framerate doesn't seem to be good because there is a lot of stuttering.

yeah i agree run of the mill shooter but with vehicles that work somewhat, not like CoD at all cause the maps are pretty big, but just like CoD because theres tons of unrealistic perks and a bit of BC2 because theres fken snipers everywhere. i havent played much SP tho.

not bad tho imo, fun to level up, get the hard-to-get vehicles and become such a menace that they put the bounty on your head, grphx are great on pc - really crisp, felt a bit squarish controls at first but managed to get around it, in the end good FPS time waster imo.

edit: also getting Metro 2033 for free with my purchase made it a no brainer, 1 pretty new game and 1 brand new game for $25 each, im pretty happy with my purchase.

frame issue looks to be extremely noticeable on 360, looks like the xbox got shafted on the grphx front

^on the 360 i guess they are bottom of the line for all 3 systems, the pc does as good as it can, the screens i posted are deteriorated from imgur even moreso, the graphics engine of this game is for the most part 5 years old, looks like the stuff that was coming out when the latest gen of consoles were coming out.

after that you only have gameplay and mp replay, so far that portion has been pretty good imo

I can't help but feel that you're making a mistake. The only thing that made this game look remotely attractive was the Metro 2033 and TF2 hat pre-order bonus :dunno:

Metro 2033 is a pretty decent game, so for $50 for 2 games, that's not a bad deal.

M:2033 does have some EXTREMELY frustrating moments and annoying AI, but overall i loved the game play and atmosphere.

I enjoyed the mp on this one (360). Nice change up from black ops. I'm sure I'll play this and cod off and on until bf3 comes out. I do love having tanks again though. Haven't gotten a chopper yet.

^ yeah! whens the damned attack chopper unlock or is it for a certain class, looks fun as hell - i just got the main battle tank, i even just wish to unlock the little RC drone helo with the rockets (sounds like firing off humaroos on the shushwap lol), but i've finally unlocked the ACOG on the ACR - wowee wow world of difference for accuracy next is this 'airburst launcher' which sounds interesting, very cheap this ACOG tho imo but if it gets me the white phosphorus burst missile quicker, idgaf.

I think it took me just under three hours to beat the entire campaign... sad, just sad.
