Anyone taking this? PMP by PMI is becoming a huge thing in our industry and my work just approved me to get the Project Management Extension certificate (after xzy hours of actual work you can apply for PMP).

Just curious if there are other professionals taking it part time. Looks like I am doing Friday on the company's time and Saturday on my time.

Think I start the Quality Controls class the weekend before Remembrance day. Then do the introduction class the weekend after. Then take the HR class in December in some point. Should be okay to write the essay in April - June semester.

I took the online version which started in January and went until June so I could add it to my resume as I am still looking for work. Was a pretty good course overall. I can imagine the inclass version would likely be a better learning experience.

You were working across the street from me right? Send me a PM with your schooling and specialty. I may be able to point you in a few right directions.

This course will not prepare you for the PMP exam. It might get you ready for the CAPM. The requirement that is helps fulfill is the educational hours for the PMP application. It is a good overall high level view of the PMI methodology, but doesn't do any deep dive informational -- in case you were looking for that.

The most difficult part for me with the PMP exam/application, was actually getting all my hours/projects together to submit. This took much longer than I anticipated.
