SO, just wondering, if meloche monnex sends a car to the 'total loss dept', is it going straight to the junkyard, or would they be fixing it back for the road. in any cause, would i ever be able to locate it?

you can locate it, but most of the time they are auctioned off to salvage shops.

why would you want to locate it though?

If you're vehicle was written off they will give you the option to buy it off of them.

They will also usually tell you which auction yard they are towing it to so that you can retrieve your belongings from it.

The car is not released for auction until the owner comes back and pics up their things.. Im not 100% sure but I think its a 2 week wait period and if in that time your not coming to retrieve anything then it goes up for sale.

Once you sign it over then its there's to sell. Im pretty sure that impact auto auctions deals with monnex. give them a call and see if they will sell it back to you.

But ill bet you would have to go to the auction and try to be the high bidder to get it back.

oh, ive already bought a new car with insurance money. just a low mileage 2zz engine in my old car. 100k kms =/ sad to see it go to waste thats all.
