Russia will join the Formula One calendar in 2014 after prime minister Vladimir Putin met with Bernie Ecclestone in Sochi where the race will be held.

The six-year deal, reportedly worth $40 million a year, will take place on a purpose-built circuit outside the Black Sea resort of Sochi, which will also play host to the 2014 Winter Olymics. Ecclestone, who has recently completed deals for an Indian Grand Prix and the return of the US Grand Prix, said it was the perfect venue for a circuit.

In mother Russia race track races you!
