Thats a nice cluster, but can your car really hit 300? Is it governed, drag co-efficient , enough power?

oh i think with 90hp the 300mark is easy. lol

no, really, 220 is the limit, thats 5th at redline for me, anything faster i need to put in a 6th gear. my 5th gear is 90km/h at 2000rpm and up to the 220km/h at 4750rpm, lol.

Here's mine. I received it but the speedo was broken, so I had to send it back. waiting for it to come back to me again. Should be about a week. Had to order from japan.

These pics aren't of the actual one I got. but you get the picture.

Nice speedo! I like the non-linear range of the speedometer that give you half its sweep from 0 to 100, and the other half from 100 to 300.

Kind of reminds me of mine (from last year).

Nice stuff man.
Here's my 944 instruments after a blue LED conversion I did, I have other colors for it, but the blue looked the best.

here's the red

and the amber

and finally, the white

I do dig the german writing on yours.

P.S.
I apologize for the images, I have an alcoholic camera, hence the double-vision pictures.

Some Porsche's have that too. or a little red band from 30-50

Zero102

Thank you Cyclone, I worked hard to make those =) The amber matches all the back-lit buttons, and the red just looks evil. However the white is the most popular for some reason. I like the blue because it makes all the needles and red areas on the gauges glow.
Those LED kits have been selling like mad.
Sucks the pictures are so bad.

TK91GT, porsche usually puts a red band from 50-60kph, look at my pics to see one.

The 30kph makes sense for playground zones, although nobody in this city seems to see those signs.

I hate my speedometer, it ends at 180. My car hits 160 in third. Is there any way to make it a higher speedo, cuz it stops showing anything after what im guessing is 210 (its when the needle hits the bottom and stops moving). Stupid nissan engineers, lowest speedo ive seen since the firefly(160)...

Older domestic vehicles from the 80's had speedometers that only went to 140 km/h.

Is yours the jdm cluster...all Japanese clusters only go up to 180km/hr considering max highway speed in japan is 80km/hr 180 should be sufficient. I buddy of mine has a rhd cefiro with an rb26 skyline engine in it. Its hilarious how in 12-13 secs he burries the 180km/hr speedo

No its the american one, only difference between the american and japanese is the tachometer's redline. American: 6500(i think)
Japanese: 7500 :D

Lol even with the SR it goes quickly to 180.

The 996 speedometers aren't as functional as they were on older Porsches.

Look at 0 to 100 km/h where most driving is done and it is quite useless, IMO. Sure there's the digital speedo under the tach but it's impossible to see using just peripheral vision. The entire range 0 to 300 km/h sweeps less than 180 degrees. Hope the 997 has a better gauge layout.

bart

nah, i think porsche are the best. if anything i would remove the speedo from that. if you buy a porsche, you dont care how fast you're going, just that when to shift, lol.

and yes, the 30km/h is red, perhaps thats easy for remembering school/playground zones. although i never seen any in europe.

the 50 is for unmarked sections of road, 50 is default right? in europe if you're driving through a small town its normally 50.
