Siiiick Lotus/Caterham 7. Want one so bad, maybe I will have to import an older one from Japan.

The first vehicle is a Hagglunds BV-206. They are made in Sweden and are fairly amphibious (they float but are only pushed along by the tracks in water). They usually have a Ford V6 and drive the rear body through a hydraulic connection. They'll do about 55km/h on-road and are used by a number of different armed forces around the world.

There is a place in Yellowknife that deals with them: http://www.arctictracks.com/forsale.html
I don't know what they are asking for them though. I've seen them being sold in Europe in the $60-70,000 range.

Same here, I saw that exact same 7 on glenmore last week. It's always been my favorite car to drive in my racing simulator and I can't wait to get one in real life.

Here's the Caterham in my sim:

I visited this shop on Vancouver Island a few weeks ago:

The Hayabusa-powered cars are insane.

They had a car from Calgary in the shop - it looked like the one in the photo above.

They do look neat. I saw one of those primo whatever ones that were the first wave downtown. Looks like a fun little car to drive, and from the auto show it seems mildly spacious.
Budget lists that they have them.

That guy with the STI and multi colored rims is in the business program at the U of A, his dad is a very successful home builder. He has some engine mods, Bride Gias Seats, Takata harnesses, and 5 or so sets of wheels. He also has a nice red MK4 supra with CF hood and gold wheels.

The pricing on that truck has to be different in the dealership. I was pricing 2500 gmc and chevs with leather and some options and just those were coming out to 61-64 at the dealer. This is was more truck then what I was looking at.

Also, how do you know it's not diesel? Is it because it has no badges? Because I can't see anything else.

I wouldn't necessarily say successful, could also be retired guys hobby farming and were previously successful.

I look at a relative of mine, He was a very successful wall street banker, retired at 45 bought approx 12,000 acres about 45 min east of Regina. his one neighbor was a retired lottery winner, another was a retired VP for a large fertilizer company. These guys made money farming, but thats not what they were there for, They made their money before farming.

Is there any special advantage by using a Farm plate? Just curious why there is a special plate for Farmers.

Farm plates were only for work vehicles 10-15 yrs ago. We were not allowed to put farm plates on our Durago 4x4 SUV when it was new. So either the rules have changed or they are defrauding the system.

Farm plates allow you to burn marked gas or diesel, at a discount of 9 and 15 cents per liter respectively. The fuel is marked with a red or purple dye. To qualify for the benefit, you must be actively farming, be in control and have ownership of the farm and its assets, and your gross annual farm revenue is over $10,000, or over $5000 if your only other significant sources of income are Canada Pension Plan or Old Age Security.

Marked fuel can be used in machinery, trucks used to transport the farm's products or supplies, trucks used to transport the farmer or farmer's dependents for personal use, and machinery used for custom farming.

Marked fuel cannot be used in machinery or trucks used for non-farming business purposes, transport of farm materials not owned by the farmer that owns the truck, or trucks owned by a farm corporation but used for shareholder's personal use.

Cars, minivans, motorhomes or licensed recreational vehicles (such as motorcycles) cannot use farm plates.

http://www1.agric.gov.ab.ca/general/progserv.nsf/all/pgmsrv9/$file/affb-factsheet.pdf?OpenElement

There are many ways that the Escalade could be legit. Maybe the farmer's wife has a second job in town, or they use it to take the kids to school.

Sorry Cos, I know this is a little late... But,

Farm plates are registered yearly, just like a normal plate. The difference is cost. A farmer can haul a larger amount of weight on their truck for a minimal cost, opposed to registering a commercial vehicle, which can cost between $200-$5000 a year. To get a farm plate (as the guy below, quoted), you are required to be approved by Alberta Agriculture. Once they approve your eligibility, the information gets transferred to Registries where your eligibility is added. You are required to provide documentation to Agriculture every year to keep the attribute.

To the guy who stated his SUV couldn't be registered, if it is considered a "mini-van" on your registration, it would not be a vehicle that can have the Farm Plate. That, or your accreditation with Agriculture may not have been put through.
