Watched Secret of my Success yesterday, a little cheezy. Detroit Rock City today. Epic rock classic. Didn't do well in the theaters, but it's developed quite the cult following.

Just watched "Cellular" and "Human Centipede."

Both low budget movies, good to pass some time.

IMO, Netflix is worth the $8 a month just for the documentaries and MST3K.

"Between the Folds" was motherfucking fascinating.
"Stevie"
"Fog of War"
"Facing the Habit"

What hardware are you guys running your netflix through? We're using the Wii and it's wireless connection, but we get some lag issues.
So far, happy with the content.

I just signed up and I'm on the one month free trial portion, let me get this straight, even when I start paying, all the shit I want to watch will still say unavailable? If I'm crying about not being allowed to watch anything good, and so are you guys, then who the fuck is getting to watch the good shit?

So even when I start paying I won't get any theatre movies, or shows like sons of anarchy or the office? Wtf why the fuck would I ever pay a penny to see all that bullshit that nobody else wants to see?

adam c

i didn't search for either of those series but when i would look for current movies there was non available, anything that hit the theaters was pretty much not available...

i wanted to kick back last night and watch some mindless old movies like menace to society or orgazmo and even those weren't available

i would try and look for kids movies for my daughter and nothing was available

Just watched Flecth last night. the variety was pretty thin, not sure how long this can hold my interest.

Yeah this shit is getting cancelled. What's the point of teasing us with every movie or tv series we want to watch, and then recommending some bullshit that nobody else wants to watch. I thought I could just get my moneys worth out of the documentaries but even those are gay.

Fast Track: No Limits.

It's like FnF, except with worse acting, more cheese, WAY hotter chicks, and IMO better racing scenes. Pretty good movie overall.

Somehow I got into a section of Netflix where they had "Walk the line."

I thought, ok, there is a decent movie. I clicked on it and it asked me to rate it and then nothing.

WTF do they have movies that you can't watch?

yeah, I am going to cancel unless they get some better shit soon. I don't care if it is old, but b movies just don't do it for me.

Apple TV is looking more and more appealing.

What do you expect for 8 bucks a month?? They're probably just testing the waters up here to see what Canadians like to watch. Not a bad deal in my mind.

Why does the Canada selection suck a large one, compared to usa?

OCDP
11-15-2010, 01:39 PM
The selection isn't the best, but for a free month trial there's enough here to keep me satisfied. I'd never pay for this service though, that's for damn sure.

Once all those shows and movies that say "currently unavailable" show up, I'll happily pay for it.

Yes, well maybe, I haven't tried it yet. My plan was to get my buddy in Florida to hook up Netflix and add my Nintendo wii to his "device". I'll probably try that in the next few weeks. I don't know if Netflix will recognize the IP address as being Canadian and block me or if they will just think his wii is on "holidays" and let it go through:dunno:

You have to set up a VPN to use a US based IP. Read up on OpenVPN, StrongVPN on how to set it up. VPN service providers are around $5/month.

I just signed up for this free trial : http://www.usvideo.ca/
