My Trip to Europe (Tons of pics)

From Aug 28 to Sep 12 I was in Europe. I was in Bingen, Germany for a few days, then off to Sardinia, Italy for 10 days, then back to Frankfurt and Bingen for a few more days before heading home. As usual I have lots of pics so I made my own thread.


Bingen is a little town right on the Rhine river, known for it's wine (specifically white). We went down the river and there were several castles to see.

Next we flew to Sardinia for 10 days, one of the highlights was a cruise in the Golf or Orosei to check out the coastline and beaches only accessible by boat:

Also in Sardina we drove up a huge mountain called "Christ Mountain" because there is a big crucifix at the top. Very cool views:

Also in Sardinia we went to a cool town called Orgosolo on top of another mountain that is famous for having all sorts of drawings on buildings. You can contact the government and get a permit to paint a building there, it's not vandalism:

After Sardinia we flew back to Frankfurt and I like zoos so that is one of the first places we went. Pretty much every picture of a small animal/bird was taken through glass, so some aren't as crisp as I'd like:

I was told some people own them, and some are used as headquarters for political figures. There was a big castle in the middle of the town of Bingen as well and it was the Mayor's office, or whatever their equivalent is there.

The only time we had a tour guide was for the 3 hour "Frankfurt on Foot" tour. He was actually an American haha.

My brother has some business partners in Italy and Germany, so we had locals to show us around and tell us what things to do, etc.

Yeah Sardinia was ridiculously nice, the water & beaches were as nice or nicer than anything I've seen in the Caribbean.

All the castle pics were taken from a moving river boat, so unfortunately I couldn't set up a tripod or easily get multiple exposures. I would have liked to try that though.

We drove to the top of the mountains, there is a road that gets increasingly sketchy as you go up, narrowing down to barely one car width. It takes about 45min. Every single corner is blind, and you have to honk and drive around them slowly. We came about 6" from a head on collision thanks to some D-bag driving up way too fast while we were coming down.

As for the zoo animals, that zoo is probably the best I've seen for quality and size of enclosures. Also of the animals I read about, many were born there and they live extremely long lives. I think some of the primates were 50 years old or something ridiculous like that.
