Goes till oct 12 if weather is good.

Fastest street car shootout is a week Sunday as well. YOu get to see why domestics with big motors rule the "street" ;)

The only reason that is cause no one in town with imports are serious enough about performance as much as the domestic guys. Look at the last gen Black supra with a HKS T-51 its running low 11's I believe with 140mph traps. Go down to california or even Japan and your domestic with a big motor will just be another car waiting to get beat. Skylines with 1000hp street legal I think would munch a stang or camero, or any old muscle car. But I guess if a stang had 1000hp well than the race would be on then wouldn't it. I'm just saying with proper tuning, a 4cyl or inline 6 could hold its own against a stang or another domestic. Its all about the power to weight ratio. Like for example my car a 92 240sx with a 2L Turbo engine, sporting only a bigger turbo and I/C running around the 300HP mark I will beable to stay with a C5 corvette just cause the car is so light. As many say Technology is the ONLY Replacment for Displacment.

Oh no... let's not start this debate again...

Ya and if you actually want performance go buy a god damn European car because they're actually built for all around performance. Geez we could argue about this till the cows come home, but its pointless.

Hehehehehe, I was just teasing. No doubt about it, the newer generation of import motors are far superior to "domestic V8's of the 70's and 80's" in terms of strength, reliabilty, flow etc....

The problem with making big power out of ANY small motor is cylinder pressure. You simply need much more cylinder pressure to make the same power as a bigger motor.....soooo, that means MORE boost, and a neccessity for high octane race gas.

AS for "technology".... what exactly is that? The internal combustion engine (invented in the 1800's)? The turbo (invented before 1910)? Fuel injection (invented in the 1960's)?? Overhead cams (invented in the 19teens)? You lost me with the technology comment ;)

Ok, ok, I am still teasing ;)

Any car has potential, it's just a matter of how much $$$$ you want to sink into it. Some cost more some cost less, some are stronger some are weaker some are John deers some are lawnmowers. Bottom line $$$$$

Once again, id love to see some vids of any of my runs from last night.

Here are the slips from my times:

1st - off the gas @ 1000 feet
2nd- missed 4th to 5th shift (coasted before 1000ft to finish)
3rd - traction limited @ 17psi (did hit 5th gear)

1st 2nd 3rd

R/T = 1.187 0.958 0.913
60' = 2.077 2.026 2.178
330 = 5.624 5.500 5.692
1/8 = none 8.168 8.386
mph = none 93.23 91.67
1000 = 10.484 10.381 10.641
1/4 = 12.424 12.346 12.537
mph = 112.62 109.05 118.62

Traction problems were the problem last night (but not necessarily for others). Toma hung me out to dry, Jesus. No limited slip, etc. prevented any good times from being run.

To compare slips last year, my best 1/8 mph was 87, even though the 60', 330' and 1/8 time were significantly better last year (1.8 60').

Hopefully more hp, will make up some time lost by traction problems (i.e. boost at 24psi). That and some new drivetrain work.

Thanks for the vids (if you can locate them).

Brad.....that mph is MOVING. Pretty cool..... The left lane TOTALLY sucked, but the right lane was not giving out 1/8 th mile times. Had to sacrifice information for the quicker run, and it paid off for me with my best time ever on motor alone.

You wanna borrow my slicks ? ;)

What was wrong with the left lane?
